# NEVER! EVER! WIPE! YOUR CACHE! DATA! NEVER! EVER! WIPE! YOUR CACHE! DATA!!!! Recently I made the biggest mistake of my life!!!! Now I’m telling everyone the experience, hoping you all can learn from it!!! It all started with my file organization problem!!! No, you’re thinking wrong, actually, I didn’t have a broken hard drive!!! It was just a technical workflow issue!! My folders were too long and dense, every time I saved a file it got stuck in the mess!!! These residues stuck so firmly, it made me extremely unhappy!!!!!! I had to use search to clean my directory!!! But that’s a technical skill!!! Because I couldn't see my root path, cleaning the directory often messed up other parts of the drive!! Another way was to use a mass delete for the whole drive!!!! The consequence was that too many files were moved and my recycle bin would always get jammed!!!! This problem bothered me for a long time!!!!! After deep thought, I came up with a great idea!!!! This is my computer, my files!!! My domain, my rules!!!! Why not just delete all the hidden system files and clutter???? This way my workflow could flow smoothly like a stream!!!! I couldn't help but imagine the beautiful sight of golden efficiency flowing from the CPU!!!!! But facts later proved, this was a very stupid B-tier idea!!! That night, I sat on my chair, and started using a cheap disposable cleaner to wipe my directory!!!! I had to carefully separate the partitions, from the boot sector to the user files, from inside out!!!! Every now and then I had to clear the cache on the tool!!!! And the unknown junk data stuck on the interface!! Gradually, my desktop and folders became as smooth and fresh as a brand new baby’s OS!!! Finally finished!!! I put down the tool and started checking my results!!!! Oh yeah!!!! My whole drive now is as smooth as ivory!!! It feels so... fresh!! and!! clean!!!! My troubles were gone!!! Looking at the pile of deleted data on the screen, I smiled with relief and pride!!! But I only found out later, everything in this digital world has a reason for its existence!!!!! You only cherish it after you lose it!!! When the metadata was gone!!!! I realized how precious that clutter was!!!! The day after the wipe was a sunny day!!! I went to school singing happily!!! After opening a few apps I started sweating!!! Then I felt something was wrong!!!! Because there were no system paths!!! The data requests all flowed to the dead end!!! My bottom processes were all soaked in errors!!!! When I tried to work, my two main apps kept sliding around because of the lag!!!! Who knew!!! After the drive dried, a residue like broken code was left near the boot sector!! It stuck my whole OS together!!! The most annoying part!!! The interface started to itch!!! I swear!! It was like ten thousand bugs crawling on the screen!!!! I really wanted to reach into the code and scratch the drive!!!! To feel good!!! But too many people were around!!! I held back!!!! Just like that, I ran back to the dorm!!! Unfortunately, because I ran, I started sweating again!!! My apps started sliding around again!!! So!!! I opened my laptop and turned on the cooling fan!!!! I pointed the fan at the vent, preparing to dry it!!! But!!! When I opened my two main folders!!! From my hardware!!! Violently emitted!!!! A!! REEKING!!! STENCH!!! The smell spread fast!!! The nearby dogs started barking like crazy!!! I was the most miserable!!!! The stench of corrupted data came out and was blown into my face by the fan!!! I almost puked!!! What’s worse, after a while, my hard drive started leaking "liquid" errors!!!! I held the folders open with the fan blowing, feeling the wind of my own data stench on my face!! A faint sadness welled up in my heart!!!! Damm, looks like I have to live like this for weeks!!! Until new cache files grow back!!! I swear!!!! Before long, I discovered another important role of digital clutter!!! I wanted to run a script!!! But it wouldn't come out!!! Without the clutter!!! The permissions were closed so tight!!! Just like vacuum packaging!!! So the script couldn't run, it just scurried around in my RAM!!! Like a lost mouse!!! Even worse things were coming!! A few days later!! Thick and hard "stubble" of fragmented data grew back!!!! Imagine the feeling of your OS sitting on a bed of nails!!!! Sometimes, I look out the window and wonder, why don't I just jump!!
